Friction saws spin at very high peripheral speed and use frictional heat to soften the material at the cut point and sever it rapidly. They are used on tube and profile lines, especially for high-speed cut-off at hot-rolling exits.

Friction/hot-cut saws are used mainly for steel and stainless tube and profile at high line speeds. We select the correct body and tooth design from the Lemp range for your material, section and line speed.

Yes. Friction saws need a special steel body and tooth geometry to withstand high heat and stress. Lemp supplies bodies and blades designed for these conditions, and we provide straightening and service support when needed.
